SNA National Network Announces New Name — LocalPoint Media

Network owned by Suburban Newspapers of America (SNA) and 19 community newspaper companies unveils new name, tagline and logo; Sales calls to start by the end of August.

8/10/2007 — LocalPoint Media will enable national media buyers to easily place advertising into thousands of community newspapers and websites across North America, with one order and one bill. The new national network, officially announced in June, released the new name, tagline and logo today, signaling significant progress made in advancing its launch. Sales efforts are slated to begin at the end of this month.

Local Papers. Local Websites. One Order. One Bill.

The name LocalPoint Media conveys the company's commitment to connecting national advertisers with local communities in a simple and direct way. The network's tagline — "National Advertising. Delivered Locally." perfectly captures the essence of the network. And, its accompanying value proposition, "Local Papers. Local Websites. One Order. One Bill." further defines its mission.

"We want media buyers to easily understand what LocalPoint Media can do for them, and the network's name, tag line and value proposition clearly spell it out," said Nancy Lane, President of LocalPoint Media and SNA, its managing partner. "We are thrilled to be able to offer national media buyers more choices for print advertising and to enable them to delve deeper into local communities. And because our network represents the most affluent markets in North America, we can offer desirable, targeted opportunities that have never been easier for national advertisers to buy."

LocalPoint Media will represent 14 categories of national business that are currently underserved by suburban and community newspapers: travel, luxury, financial, automotive manufacturers and aftermarket, pharmaceutical, packaged goods, insurance, health & beauty, technology, telecom, food & beverage, pure-play internet and national political. The network will not represent retail.

LocalPoint Media is in the process of collecting rates and information from thousands of community and suburban newspapers in the United States and Canada. Marketing materials are also being developed. "We will start meeting with national media buyers as early as the end of August to discuss LocalPoint Media and the many options that exist for national brand advertising," said Mike Zuniga, former Chief Operating Officer, "We know that national advertisers are looking for new and exciting options and we have something very special to present to them.

To facilitate communication about the network and services for advertisers and participating newspapers, a new website, www.localpointmedia.com, is under development and is to be launched in early fall.
